Get ready for a post-lockdown launch: popular fishing boats
If there was one standout upside of the coronavirus lockdown, it has been highlighting our appreciation of the great outdoors and all the great recreational activities we love but couldn’t enjoy. In some states fishing has been permitted, under strict social distancing and gathering regulations, but for others, it has meant plenty of time indoors. Time spent browsing the internet and organising their boat purchase for the upcoming summer season.
Fishing Boat Finance
We know this because we’ve been receiving a lot of enquiries about fishing boat loans and we’re pleased to be able to continue assisting our customers throughout the coronavirus crisis.
So we thought we’d share our ideas on some of the most popular types, brands and models of fishing boats available in Australia. We know this will be contentious as fishers have strong opinions but we’ll give it a go anyway.
Haines Signature Boats
Probably one of, if not the, most popular choice in fishing boats in Australia. A fishing boat that is equally suitable to take the family for a fun day out on the water or just fish alone. Haines offers a great selection of models to suit your style of fishing, your destination and the waterways you intend to explore.
We’ll go straight to the top of their fishing boat range and consider the 650F which is perfect for offshore fishing adventures. At 6.55 metres and with capacity for 9 passengers, the 650F not only looks great but includes plenty of creature comforts including an extra-large cabin, to satisfy the family.
Bar Crusher
Receiving plenty of rave wraps from boat reviewers, the Bar Crusher range has well and truly earned its rep as Fishing Weapons. Their exclusive innovations, superior construction and performance place them top of many people’s wish list for the ultimate fishing boat.
We’ve chosen the 670HT Exocet for special mention as it is the first hard top that Bar Crusher has included in a special edition release. The dark grey and black gloss colour scheme and the ability to handle a 200 hp outboard makes the 670HT not only a great looking boat to trail through the streets but a mean and powerful fishing weapon on water.
Stabicraft
Stabicraft is a staple in the fishing boat market. The practical, functional, aluminium range that keeps delivering season after season. The choices cater for all fishing preferences and many budgets from the relatively basic Explorer models, through the Supercab and Ultracab selections.
For a quality fishing boat with proven performance, Stabicraft could be on the top of your wishlist.
Quintrex
It doesn’t get more iconic for an Aussie fishing adventure than to head off in your Quintrex aluminium boat. From the classic Explorer tinnies, through the Bowriders, Cabin range, Runabouts, Hornets – the range is vast but all are built to suit Australian conditions. Match yours with an Evinrude motor, grab some bait and a mate and you’re set for a top day on the water.
Cruise Craft
Cruise Craft have been building fishing boats for Australians since 1946, so it’s not surprising that they know what they’re doing. The range includes centre consoles, hard tops and targa top options with new models regularly being released to tempt fans to upgrade to a new CC.
2020 Boat Shows
You would likely have been looking forward to checking out more and all of the latest fishing boat releases at one of the highly popular 2020 boat shows. Sadly, many have become victims of the coronavirus crisis.
So far we can report that the 2020 Sydney International Boat Show has been cancelled and the very popular Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show has been postponed.
Many exhibitors would have no doubt been planning to unveil great models and great deals at these shows. Please support your local boating industry by seeking them out directly and inspecting what they have to offer.
In line with COVID-19 physical distancing regulations, many boat dealers are offering contactless inspections and test cruises, so you can still get your hands on a new fishing boat.
